RPS Fighter Demo

Created by Roberto Raftery for an independent study with Dr. Joel Ross in Spring quarter 2024.

To run: download and unzip the folder. Run one instance of the server in server/chat_demo_server.exe, then run two instances of the client in client/chat_demo_client.exe

To start a match: 

1. on the running server instance, press "Begin Listening".
2. on each running client instance, input the IP address of the server at the top. If the server and both clients are running on the same computer, skip this step, as the address should already be correct.
3. On the first client instance, press "Connect", then "Create Room". Make note of the room the server says you joined.
4. On the second client instance, press "Connect", then input the number of the room the first client joined. Then press "Join Room".
5. On each client instance, press "Send Team".
6. Begin playing!

During a match, you control the fighter on the left. Select the action to take next round by either choosing one of your fighter's attacks (to the left of your fighter) or by selecting a fighter on your team to swap in to (below your fighter). Your opponent's team and their status are represented on the right.
