Axe Shooter 2: Red vs Blue
Made by Declan and Roberto for the 2021 UW Tri-campus game jam.
Controls: WASD to move, mouse to aim, left click to swing your sword/shoot your guns, right click to throw/recall your sword, and scroll wheel to switch gun.
A top-down arena shooter where you fight off hordes of red enemies. Hit enemies with your sword to gain ammo, throw your sword to gain access to your guns, and recall your sword to regain your melee attack. Remember that you can only throw your sword after a successful melee attack.
The second entry in the critically acclaimed Axe Shooter franchise, adding in many fan-requested features such as guns, a melee attack, more complex enemies, and rogue-like elements. Those who were hoping for a Story Mode will unfortunately have to wait for the next entry in the series.
How does this game fit the theme of "Growth and Decay", you may ask? Well you see, over your playthrough, the ammo meter "grows" when you hit stuff with your sword, and "decays" when you shoot your guns.

Awesome gameplay and use of camera shake effects when damage is taken or when the player damages enemies! Nice battle mechanics as well, really enjoyed playing this!
